We want our children to leave us knowing that they can change the world...

Why do we teach Maths?

We teach Maths daily across the school

We teach daily Maths to ensure that all children have the mathematical skill set to progress to the next level of their education.

We use the Mastery approach to ensure that all learners are able to build up to reasoning and problem solving.

Following a three year development project with the Enigma Hub, our CPA approach is firmly embedded across the school, with children moving on to deeper learning when they are ready.

Intended impact:

The ultimate goal is for the children to be able to be fluent in their calculation and resilient in their problem solving - showing tenacity and reasoning and the ability to consider more than one way to solve a problem.

Children may do this using concrete resources, pictorial representation or a more abstract approach, depending on their age and stage.
