Sports Hall Athletics

At the end of January, Mrs Green and Ms Sherry took 18 children from years four, five and six to Daventry Leisure Centre for a regional Sports Hall Athletics tournament. For many of the children, it was the first time they had been to a big competition before and we were up against 8 much bigger schools. The children competed in sprinting relay races, hurdles, obstacle courses and individual sprints on the track. For field events, they took part in chest push, standing high jump, standing long jump, triple jump and javelin. We were incredibly proud of all the children who took part as they showed determination, great sportsmanship and did everything with a smile! Go team Pattishall!

March Events

Hockey Wow Day

On Wednesday 14th March, Mrs McLean and Mrs Green took 14 year 4, 5 and 6 children to Campion School for a Hockey Wow Day. The children met a member of the Great Britain Hockey team who showed them lots of fun and exciting games which help to practise hockey skills. They all had a fantastic time and we are looking forward to seeing more hockey in school now!

Year 3 and 4 Gymnastics Competition

The level of gymnastics talent in our school is phenomenal! It was so hard to have to choose only 4 children to take to Daventry Phoenix Centre on Monday 12th March. There were 8 other schools competing in the morning and 14 more schools were competing in the afternoon. The girls had to learn two routines, floor and body management, and perform a vault jump. Having only had two practices before hand, the girls were outstanding and showed a high level of skill. They managed to come fourth out of the eight schools in the morning and therefore 13th out of the 22 schools overall. Congratulations girls!

Year 5 and 6 Gymnastics Competition

Having seen the year 3 and 4 competition, we had a better idea what to expect! The girls stepped their gymnastics up a level and threw in round offs, squat through vaults and other complicated moves that Mrs Green had never heard of!

All the girls but 110% into the competition and came 20th out of 24 schools! Well done girls. Next year, we will make sure the girls get more practice as they only had one week to learn the routines!
